Overall, this is a great winter/cold water swimbait that can get down to lethargic bass holding deep and offer up a big tasty snack they find worthy of expending a little energy on. Be sure to try it as a bed fishing bait during the spawn too.

I have most sizes in this bait. Didn’t have the smallest. I ordered two and they are small!! You are better off using a Ned rig than this bait for $5.99. I know the size was listed but I thought it would have had a bigger profile. Never would hav3 bought this if I was able to see one before hand. Just giving a heads up. Very happy with the bigger sizes.

Best all around bait!
The dark sleeper is the perfect bait for smallmouth fishing! You can drag it like a tube, pop it off the bottom or swim it like any other swimbait. Some of the biggest smallies I’ve ever caught have been on the dark sleeper. If I could only use one bait for the rest of my life this would be it!

Great Bait for Great Lakes
Solid bait for clearer water. Good action on sandy bottoms. Let it sink, hesitate then twitch and slow reel in cooler water.
Nice reel and just the right size. Small enough for an ultralight or light rod. Very smooth and performs well. Kind of a light drag weight, the 2500 has twice the drag for the same price, but for my needs the 2000 is the correct choice.
I have used cheap bladed baits in the past. In doing so I had only caught a few fish. A friend gave me a Jackhammer Bait. Tied it on and the 3rd cast I landed a nice 3 lb bass. Just looking at what I had compared to the Z-Man Jackhammer it’s night and day. The quality alone is a major factor. Since I gained confidence in the bait I place a nice order and now have several on my boat. Great Job Z-Man! Great Service by Discount Tackle as well.
