Features:

  • P-Line XTCB-8 is Teflon coated 8-carrier braided fishing line.
  • Teflon coating facilitates smooth casting and abrasion resistance.
  • Retains round shape while having a smaller diameter.
  • Worry-free knot strength.

P-Line XTCB-8 has all of the same great features as P-Line's XTCB and more. By using 8 strands of fiber during the braiding process, P-Line has made a braid that is extremely dense and compact. The benefit to the angler is an ultra-smooth finish and the ability to retain its round shape while having a smaller diameter.

Add the benefits of DuPont's Teflon® Surface Protector, awesome abrasion resistance, great knot strength, and reduced friction, and you have the best braided "Superline" available to the angling community. You'll be able to cast a country mile and pull your new PB out of the roughest cover without blinking an eye.

    Fragile as all get out.

So i thought i would try a new line. This was only my 2nd year using braid on a rod always used mono. And i learned my lesson. Where the spider wire exceled at this p-line that cost 2x the price of the spiderwire failed is abrasion resistance. And im not even talkim bout rubbing on a underwater branch. Or hell even grass.... No. I spent 2+ hours in my living room restringing and then attempting to tye on my normal gear getting ready for my first fishing trip this year in a few days.... It stumped me... Till i did a experament. I rubbed the line across my book case that i sit next to and then hooked the hook to the eye of my gx2 and ran the reel down a bit. It popped with maybe 2 pounds or so of stress. This is not abrasion resist..... This line is trash. I have been fishing my entire life. Its my passion and i tied my normal knots. The double uni and the polomar knot.... But the line never broke at the knot. It broke where it rubbed on the plastic spool it came off of when reeling it on my rod. I have been through many different lines. But have never found the perfect line for me. But also i have never tried such a expensive piece of trash line..... I am just glad that i did not put the 8 pound test p-line i bought on my 6 foot trout pole. I can still use that this trip. I live a hour from anywhere that sells decent line. And this really pisses me off..... If i could personify this line into a human being and jack its jaw i would in a heart beat...... I spent 2 hours retying this line thinking i would eventually find the good spot in the line. But alas. After pulling over 100 feet off the spool in 2 to 3 atm pull increments i realized its not my knots. Its not " bad spots". Its the trash line.
