An excellent introduction to anglers who are new to mainline fluorocarbon, Seaguar's Red Label Fluorocarbon is strong yet extremely soft, sensitive, and affordable. Red Label works best with baitcasting reels and is suitable for both small to moderate size freshwater and saltwater species. The line offers remarkable impact strength and good abrasion resistance, boasting 30% better knot strength over leading competitors. As with all 100% fluorocarbon products, Red Label is much less visible underwater than monofilament line and virtually invisible to fish. Red Label is also UV resistant, chemical resistant, non-absorbant, high-density, and impervious to cold conditions.

Made from 100% Seaguar resins and produced using their proprietary extrusion process.

Available in pound tests ranging from 4 to 20 pound.

Great line!!

This product is very good for the price. This was my first time trying seaguar, and now I’m hooked… (pun intended). Very strong and durable and I’ll be buying more later on.

Great Line

I have used numerous fluoro. lines over the past several years and all have been good for the application. Many were more expensive, but for the money Seaguar has proven to be a great line at a great price. Whether used as leader or filling entire spool this line is supple, long casting, has minimal stretch and has proven time and again it can handle dragging large fish from heavy cover. Abrasion resistance is excellent. I use primarily 12lb on higher speed casting reels when fishing deep. I've had no issues with knots not holding. If you are looking for a great economy fluorocarbon line I would recommend you give this a try.

Good for leader line

I have used Seaguar Red Label fluorocarbon as leader material for the past 12 years for inshore fishing. Often people tell me, "That's not leader material." Well, it is fluorocarbon, it is strong, and I can buy 175 yards of it for $12. I realize that Seaguar makes Blue Label leader that costs $10 for 25 yards (ridiculous), but why get that when I can grab a spool of 20 lb Red Label from the tackle box, and know I have enough for years of 20" leaders?

Great all-around line!

Yes, it's a bit "stiff" for spinning reels, but it's dynamite at a super price for all my casting reels. I use 12 pound on most of my reels and 10 pound on a couple finesse rigs. Generally use 8 pound for shock leader on braided line for spinning reels. Some reviewers complain that it "takes a set" over time--yep, it's fluorocarbon and will take a set like all other fluoro lines. Best knot strength I've found and abrasion resistance is truly noteworthy! Try it, you'll like it!
