The Evergreen International SB-77 is a new smaller version of Evergreen's well-respected SB (aka Shower Blows) topwater pencil popper walking baits. Perfect for when bass are keyed in on smaller baitfish and you need something to better imitate them, this smaller size brings all the fish-catching potential of the larger sizes to a more finesse-oriented profile.

The SB-77 has the same water-chugging cupped mouth, irresistible walk-the-dog action, and tungsten weight long cast/rattle system as the larger sizes too. The SB-77 is pre-rigged with a size 6 treble in front and size 7 feather-dressed treble in rear.

Available in 8 colors.

Slayer top water bait

This little pencil spitter has caught me more fish ,and big fish than many other top water baits I have thrown, I would recommend it to anyone as it is easy to walk even for a beginner. I’ve had luck with every color combo, although bleeding white seems to be my go to

one of two absolute topwater must-haves

i have been throwing topwaters almost exclusively the past ten+ years. i have purchased/used nearly all of 'em. here's what i have found...

best color? clear. it flashes just like baitfish, and gets an amazing numerical advantage over any other color i've used. i keep records of my experiences so i don't waste time using baits that don't work or are not as effective. DT has 'em.

best hooks? on a half-ounce topwater i use vmc hybrid trebles, #2. catches 'em all. DT has 'em! i had a tiny baitfish hit the spinner and get hooked, right at my feet while i watched. the spinner adds even more flash! bass are gonna need sunglasses! DT probably has those too!

best lure? lots of great ones. azuma has a great clear topwater. yo zuri, too! and many others...but THE best are actually 2 baits: evergreen sb 105 and sb 77! the 105 casts a mile, and fish of all sizes will hit it. i do remove the standard hooks and add the hybrid trebles front and back. just easier to deal with, plus the hybrid trebles are all you need! the 77 is lighter, and casting into the wind can be a bit of an issue, as you might expect. but casting with the wind is awesome, and the smaller size seems to match the hatch; the size of baitfish being chased. both these baits are the best producers i have ever used. it's not even close.
here's the issue...77 doesnt come in clear at the moment. get the flash silver shad, take scissors and scrape off the black finish on top of bait, then lightly paint with clear nail polish. bingo! also, leave the front treble on front of 77. add a #8 hybrid treble to the rear. it'll still float that way.
both these baits spray water better than anything else. they walk better than anything else. and you will find yourself a nervous wreck because every cast can get crushed. the anticipation is incredible! and it happens right before your eyes. what could be better?
also: if you get the hybrid trebles, get some loctite glue. it dries clear. put some on the black attachment material that holds the spinner mechanism on the the shaft. you'll see what i mean. it'll keep the spinner from falling off under rough conditions. trust me on this.
best retrieve? slow. i mean slow. it'll walk a coupla inches both ways, and stay in the strike zone longer, and make it easier for predators to get hooked. i fish pretty much every morning, and that's what works best for me here in Texas. sure, i catch em occasionally on a fast retrieve. and sometimes i stop the retrieve to scratch a body part, and get crushed. but the best percentage is sloooooooow. keeo it active, but sloooooooow. see if that works for you.

i'm Bill, and i'm a topwater addict. lol

DT has the lowest price on these baits! i just received 5 of the 77's. DT has 'em!
