Works great on my wacky rig and very sharp. great hook set.
Ned Rigs were introduced to me 3 years ago. I can always count on them to catch fish, any fish. Just like the Z-Man TRD, I can always count on Discount Tackle for quick delivery and fair prices. The box stores have gotten ridiculously priced. I found Discount Tackle this year and have ordered often from them several times times. I appreciate their pricing, inventory and fast delivery. Even paying shipping I’m saving money and getting the lures and colors I want. Discount Tackle is my go to store for stocking my tackle box!
I just picked up one of these after using a Lexa 300 HD for many seasons. I use them for fishing 2-5oz swimbaits on the California coast, typically in 30-100 FOW while drifting.
Pros compared with Lexa HD:
- I like that the TW line offers the lower 6.3:1 gear ratio that's marginally better for California halibut while still having essentially the same line per turn as the 7.4:1 Lexa HD, which I've found to be very beneficial while on the drift (I can't use the 6.3:1 Lexa HD in the afternoon, when the drift picks up, because it doesn't retrieve line fast enough to maintain good swimbait action)
- I do think it casts farther than the Lexa HD, but I'm still feeling out whether I think that extra distance is worth the extra cost
Cons compared with the Lexa HD:
- I prefer the HD's counter-balanced handle and smaller knob. I haven't yet had the TW's handle swing while casting, causing the spool to engage and cast to get cut short, which I've read online can happen; I've been purposefully positioning the handle before casting to avoid this, but I'd prefer not having to do that or think about this. And while you can find the other handle online and swap it on, that just adds to the cost (plus, some handles found online don't come with the appropriate nut plate and screw; you have to order them separately from Daiwa).
- Cost
But overall, it's still a Lexa, which means it's buttery smooth, well built and well sealed. If cost is not a factor, the TW is probably worth it, and I have seen them go on sale from time-to-time at a cost very similar to the HD.
After using other Zman soft plastics this lure us over superior to other lures due to its vibration and the lures panicking action and its flashing being able to catch anything bass to trout over all I give it a 5/5 it is just perfect.
Nice small scale for the backpack trips, just wish it had a slightly bigger hand grip
A great spin off of the original.
Classic and super awesome especially for the price.
Solid little topwater. Ideal for light fishing but just small enough to be good for ultralight fishing.
These clips are super great for light fishing and switching lures quickly. Ive found that they work a lot like a split ring, just easier to attach or remove. I got the mini ones and they are good for most ultralight techniques but a little big for some. Id suggest using them on straight retrieve moving baits, topwaters, and not for stuff that has a delicate action or anything you’d fish on the bottom.
Switched hooks in several of my frogs and the hookup ratio has increased drastically. Give them a shot and check it out for yourself! You’ll be impressed.
These Jigs Produce. Tried off brand Jigs and they just don't compare. Spend the extra bucks and jet ready for the Strike.
I love this bait on a #1 offset worm hook rigged weedless and weightless. Then twitched through light cover, along shores, and over weeds. Great erratic action, slow sinking and killer in the Bold Bluegill color. It is a Bass magnet. My tackle bag got lighter because I rarely use anything but this when chasing bucket mouths. Try the Roboworm Straight Tail Worm in Bold Bluegill, 4 1/2-Inch! You can't go wrong and the only thing you'll regret is not buying more.
I like this line it cast really good and spools up nice but the abrasion resistance is not very good after catching three bass i needed to retie so instead of sending it back i just tied on a florocarbon leader and now it is fine.
I love xzone products! Great colors, perfect action, get bit!
A fish catcher! Works for me all seasons.
I’ve been extremely pleased with Discount Tackle. Their selection of fishing tackle is top-notch, and the products I’ve purchased have consistently performed well on the water. Everything I’ve ordered has been high quality, durable, and exactly as described.
What stands out most is their dependability. Orders are processed quickly, shipped on time, and arrive well-packaged. It’s refreshing to do business with a company that is reliable and takes customer satisfaction seriously.
Whether you’re a weekend angler or a serious fisherman, Discount Tackle offers great products, dependable service, and competitive pricing. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for my fishing tackle needs.
Have had a very good spring flipping and pitching this scounbug! Mainly have been throwing Blue Craw, but makes a killer football and peewee/micro jig trailer.
Enjoy using this bait. Holds up well and the price point can't be beat. For me this Brush Craw works better than the Brush Hog in the same colors.....
probably the faster shipping i’ve ever got. this lure catches me the most fish and it is by far my favorite one. i’d love to order more from discount tackle. they are very user friendly and affordable. i ordered a few other things along side the bitsy.
Last time I seen these in store they were like 17-18 dollars plus they get bit
I pair mine with an xzone lures deception worm and this combo absolutely slays the small mouth
Completely eliminated tangles and line twist and just keeps the fish pinned
