Features:

  • The 13 Fishing Omen Panfish Series Spinning Rod is a new graphite spinning rod optimized for small species gamefish, like Panfish and Trout.
  • The Omen Panfish Spinning Rod is built on a Japanese 36 Ton Toray Graphite Blank, giving the light power and fast action you need to have fun while fighting featherweights like trout and panfish.
  • Split grip handle with premium Portuguese cork and Evolve Skeleton Reel Seat so you're dialed when you head to the lake.
  • The guides are tough Fuji Stainless Steel K Frame, with Alconite inserts to let your line glide through and get you critical extra casting distance.
  • 13 Fishing Omen rods come with a limited 5 Year Warranty direct from 13 Fishing. Check out all the options!

Often overlooked, 13 Fishing takes their small species equipment serious. Rather than starting from a heavy lumber some conventional rod, they started with a blank gifted with sensitivity surging through its veins and created the Omen Panfish & Trout Rod. It brings sensitivity and reliability with that irrefutable 13 attitude to the otherwise safe and sensible light tackle market. Whoever heard of a Japanese 36 Ton Toray Graphite blank, Premium Portuguese 3A Split Grip handle, and an Evolve Skeleton Reel Seat in a lightweight, performance-driven rod kitted out with Fuji Stainless Steel K Frame Guides that have Alconite inserts on a panfish/trout rod? The Omen of sophisticated species? That's more like it - and just like that, performance came to panfish.

Awesome Rod

Bought this rod from Discount Tackle via Amazon. I couldn't be any happier! The rod was packaged with care and showed up in immaculate condition. I already slapped a reel I had laying around on it and the action feels phenomenal, I went with the 7 foot ultra lite and will probably pair it with a 13 fishing source R 2.0, can't wait to get it out on the water and start catching some trout, smallies and panfish!

Beautiful Rod Delivers Quality Ultralight Experience

Honestly, I think this rod has gotten a bit of bad press that is undeserved for the model I have experienced (5' 6" UL). Once paired with a Tatula LT 1000 (originally I had a bit heavier reel on it) it has become my preferred rod for a versatile, pleasurable ultralight rig with great sensitivity, feel, and ability to fish a variety of techniques for just north of $100. Now I know that Ethan of Fish Anything was a bit cool on it at the 6' 9" length (and fussy about the lack of a bait keeper), but I feel this rod delivers as much as the the Temple Fork Panfish and Trout in an extremely pleasing package. Also, I say this having a lot of experience with the awesome Dobyn's and Daiwa Kage ULs which are just a different tier of experience and as much as I love them both, they are sometimes too much of a magic wand. Sometimes I want a great feeling rod that makes the fight in a small yellow perch feel like more than it really is and I think both the Temple Fork and Omen deliver in this regard. I love the feel in the hand though I will say the fitted molding for my index finger to feel the blank got a little slippery in the rain while I was pulling in multiple species fish (bass, crappie, perch) on every cast. Maybe I should fish in the rain less, but I will take that experience any day of the week.

Great Ultra light

I picked this rod up to replace / upgrade from the silver defy UL rod, this rod is more sensitive for sure and feels amazing in the hand. I will say it’s a tad whippier than the I’m used to but iv had no issue catching pan fish so far.
