Sunline has produced braided line since 1992. Since that time, Sunline braid was only available in the US to its professional fishing staff. In 2011, that all changes with the addition of Dean Rojas and a new braided product specifically for the US market. Dean is known as the best frog fisherman on the planet, so Sunline went to him to help develop a braided line that would be perfect for frog fishing and flipping. Sunline FX2 was created specifically for these two power techniques that require a premium braid product.

Favorite Braid

I have been using Fx2 50# for two or three years. It is round, smooth, strong and casts effortlessly. It has pulled numerous bass in the 3 to 6 pound class out of healthy Lily Pads without any failures. Using frogs tied straight to Fx 2.
I use 17 lb fluoro leaders tied w FG knots in other anpplications and love the combination.
I tried a major competitor’s braid and was terribly disappointed. This braid is widely used and has a great rep but I found it fuzzy and difficult to work with compared to Fx 2.
Only down side is I need to order more because a big shark spooled me when fishing for Bull Reds out of Venice. Yes - 50-60 lb shark on a straight run will break 50# Fx 2 at about Mach 7!

Great line, to be expected coming from Sunline. Spooled it up on the frog rod and it really tows them in. Been running power pro for years, but I have really been enjoying the Sunline products I have tried out lately.
