The brand new Daiwa Tatula Series Spinning Rods are a spinning sub-series of Daiwa's brilliant, re-vamped Tatula Series of spinning and casting rods. The new Tatula Series really runs the gamut, with everything from medium-light spinning rods for finesse fishing, all the way up to heavy flippin' and froggin' rods. But, just as the name of this sub-series implies, these rods are best suited for spinning applications, such as finesse fishing or really any other technique that uses light line and tackle.

Crafted from X45 SVF graphite blanks with BRAIDING-X carbon fiber braiding technology, these rods are extremely light for their power ratings. This specialized carbon fiber braiding process also reduces blank twists and provides crisper, more uniform tapers. Additionally, the reduced blank weight also increases hoop strength load by helping the blank resist ovalization.

The quality of these rods doesn't stop with the blanks either. Like all rods in the Tatula Series, the Tatula Series Spinning Rods come with Fuji's new, proprietary FazLite K-guides. Fuji FazLite guides are an all-new formulation designed for to be braid-proof, rod-locker-tough, and offer silky-smooth, tangle-free performance on your fishing rod. Just shy of Alconite's stellar specifications, FazLite rings are extremely affordable, yet they easily surpass the performance demands set by Fuji's flagship K-Series guides and allow you to make extremely long, accurate casts time after time.

These are some damn good-looking rods too. All rods in the Tatula Series come with a slick black and graphite finish with Portuguese natural cork handles emblazoned with a laser-etched Tatula Spider icon. The beautifully crafted natural cork handles not only look great but ensure easy and comfortable rod handling season after season.

Overall, the Tatula Series really bridges the gap between affordability and quality and is great for filling holes in your gear line up without forcing you to dip into the kids' college fund, or worse: sacrifice rod quality. Limited 5-year manufacturer warranty.*

Sweet rod!

I was reluctant to buy the Tatula rod, given my satisfaction with the Procyon series, but, when I picked up this rod, I knew it was worth it. It's light and sensitive, and, I presume, strong enough to handle whatever I hook.

Wanting an upgrade to my spinning setup, I chose the Tatula over the Tat Elite mostly because I could not see myself with a silver surfer kind of stick. I am not regretting that decision one bit. At $150, this rod cannot be beat! I do not use Daiwa exclusively, so no bias here (I carry Shimano, Dobyns, Lews, etc). I primarily use this rod for wacky rigged Senkos and landed a previous PB 4 pounder at my neighborhood pond, detecting the bite on slack line. Great sensitivity with power pro braid to flouro leader paired with a fuego. If there’s ever a sale on these, it’s a no-brainer!

If you like finesse fishing, this long rod is a dream come true. You can launch small baits a mile and pick up a ton of line for a hookset. This will me my go-to "versatility" rod for deeper finesse approaches. Drop shot, 3/32oz Mule Jigs, etc.

Tatula 6' 8" Med spinning rod

Paired with Tatula size 20 reel and by far lightest set up I have two thumbs up.
