The Rapala Pro Rain Jacket is a grey and black foul-weather fishing raincoat designed for serious anglers who do significant amounts of foul weather fishing (e.g., guides, tournament pros). Built to live up to the Rapala name, this jacket combines the latest in outerwear technology with premium components to create a superior foul-weather protection experience for anglers.

The Rapala Pro Rain Jacket employs a comfy, mid-weight 3-layer structure with a 100 percent Ripstop nylon shell, taslan, and mesh inner lining that is waterproof yet breathable so you don't overheat. Additionally, the jacket uses tape-sealed seams, premium YKK zippers, and reflective Rapala logos for added performance and a dapper overall look.

For comfort and convenience on the water, the bib has adjustable suspenders and drawstrings on the waist, adjustable ankle cuffs with a snap-up hem, zip-to-knee side zippers, and a magnetic flap on the main zipper. The bib also offers ample pockets for storage and protection from the cold, including 2 outer cargo pockets, 2 outer lined hand-warming pockets, and 1 interior pouch pocket.

Jacket

lots of pockets- two large Velcro closure inside two hand pockets that are lightly lined.. chest pocket is large enough for any cell phone or extra glasses, even has a lens wipe included. all zippers are large and easy to grab with light to to medium gloves on.. magnetic closures are a nice - holds the outer flap in place easily. hood, waist and lower chest all have stretch adjustments with slide locks for perfect fitting when sitting or standing. neck gator is lightly lined and large to cover above chin- would be nice to have a soft liner over the zipper but still nice .. sizing seems to be normal if you don't wear a sweatshirt or hoodie might go a size smaller- i went with large for that reason, sleeves have solid and large velcro straps and arm length is nice for movement and stretching - material is firm, but movable..

Large is normal fitting, if you are not every wearing sweatshirts, or hoodies go a size smaller maybe. I went with large for that reason and seems to be perfect- arms are long enough to stretch arms and keep wrists covered. plenty of pockets hand pockets are lightly lined, chest pocket has large zipper too and a lens cloth included on a stretch lanyard for us with glasses, nice touch.. front zipper is large and seems heavy duty and very easy to grab- snaps along with magnetic clasp are great. zipper has a flip flap under the cover flap to keep out water wrist cuffs have large Velcro straps. Waist adjustment is great so you can pull in around the waist makes sitting more comfortable. bottom cuff adjustment is nice for when standing you can tighten around your bibs making more wind and rain proof.. material is firm but durable. lightly lined large knee gator with positive snap. hood ids plenty big to go over your hat, has adjustments to tighten.. like all hoods stiff at first but loosens up and moves with you after some use

Lots of nice touches.

Rapala Pro Rain Jacket has lots of nice touches. Lots of pockets (2 inside, 2 lined outside hand-warming pockets), clips for gear, a cell-phone pocket (and inside the pocket, a retractable micro-fiber cloth to wipe off the screen). Zippers are big and easy The hood is full and comfortable, and you can tighten it down with drawstrings for when you running the boat. Inside drawstrings for getting the optimal fit. It is definitely a good shell against rain and wind, but it is not really insulated for warmth--after all, it's breathable so not surprised here. That said, i had layers on underneath and was warm. One thing to note is to check the sizing chart and get your size based on measurements. I would have normally gone for a size L bibs and XL jacket, but looking at the sizing chart and talking to the Discount Tackle folks, it does run slightly larger fit, so when my layers underneath the rain gear, the Pro Rain gear still fit comfortably with the M bibs and L jacket. The jacket also has magnets to help keep it closed and keep you protected from the rain even if you don't have your jacket zipped. The magnets will hold your jacket closed when you're fishing, but you should zip up before you run the boat. Anyway, a quality rain gear set, and it rained like hell yesterday and I stayed dry and happy enough to write a good review!
