Features:

  • The Nomad Design Shikari is a new inshore jerkbait that you can work as a trolling plug or a crankbait, but also is designed to be fished like a jerkbait.
  • The Shikari is slow floating, which can be a little more effective than suspending as it rises slowly like a baitfish in saltwater.
  • The Shikari is equipped with a Tungsten Weight Transfer system to get more casting distance, and assists with the jerky jerkbait action.
  • When cranked, trolled or jerked, the Nomad Design Shikari can dive to about 3 feet deep.
  • Two sizes available: 3.75 inch 2/5 oz (95g) and 145g 5.75 inch 1 oz in several different colors.

The Nomad Design Shikari is a long-casting, shallow diving, slow floating jerkbait with a tungsten weight transfer system. The internal weight slides backward into the tail when casting to maximize distance, and then rolls forward when being retrieved to balance the lure and keep it perfectly level.

The Nomad Design Shikari can be twitched hard on the retrieve to produce an erratic action where the lure will turn 180 degrees triggering violent strikes from inshore gamefish. It can also be trolled with a significant body roll, and when retrieved will produce a nose to tail whole body wiggle, making it highly appealing to all predators.

Every Nomad Design lure has been crafted by decades of experience on the water to be tougher, last longer and to catch more fish.

I lost the first 3 fish I got strikes from on this lure……..
I had to change the hooks ….
After the hook change I caught a lot of speckled trout with it…
It works….

I tried this bait in the sound for speckled trout and redfish. I did not like the hooks from the moment I saw them. The hooks are thick and the gap is small. I got a few bites and never got the hooks to set in the fish. I then changed the hooks out with VMC 9651BN size 4…. I caught trout. The action is unpredictable and that’s something that will get fish to strike. Never know exactly what direction this bait will dart towards. I got a fat 20 inch trout in the boat and he swallowed the bait head first… that’s not normal, must have been the erratic darting action. The bait tends to flutter and spin when I cast it with spinning gear. I’m not happy about that…. I was expecting a straight smooth flight when I cast but unless I put an unusually strong hard effort into a cast, the bait spins and tumbles when I cast it. Needless to say casting distance and accuracy are not good with this bait. But I do like the size and profile and shape. It’s a good size for the fish I target and the gear I use.

Loving these new shikari baits

Ive bought about a dozen of these in various sizes and I'm a huge fan. They cast very well given their shape and weight. They are quite versatile as they are fishable with a fast retrieve, slow retrieve, or as a jerkbaits. I've ene had a ton of success trolling them being the kayak as traveling from spot to spot
