The Nomad Design Vertrex Max Vibe is a new inshore fishing lure that lives in the gray area between a vertical saltwater jig and lipless crankbait, resulting in a versatile lure that can be fished both ways, but looks and feels like a soft bait!
Featuring internal weights and streamlined diving body, the Vertrex Max Vibe is designed to dive fast without spinning on the drop--unlike its inshore cousin, the Vertrex Swim, who swims on the way down. Check out the Vertrex Max Vibe Offshore, too!
Nomad Design built the Vertrex Max Vibe to offer a great fish-attracting vibration, and so once you get it diving deep, you can fish it slowly and it will vibrate (the "Vibe"), keeping you in the strikezone longer.
Ideally suited for inshore vertical jigging and casting-retreiving, the Inshore Vertrex Max is a soft vibration bait that out performs the competition on every level, from diving to color to technique to vibration.
The Nomad Design Vertrex Max Vibe has three different sizes 4.33 inch (110mm), 3.75 inch (95mm), and 3 inch (75mm) in 17 awesome colors.
The Nomad Design Vertrex Max Vibe Inshore is built for maximum vibration and maximum depth. The deep body profile combined with finely tuned internal weights delivers a soft vibration bait that sinks level and does not spin when sinking. This allows you to get down to the fish faster and allows a more lifelike presentation when you get there. The deeper body design combined with the body shape creates huge vibration at fast or slow speeds. The amount of vibration you can achieve at slow speeds just gently hopping this lure on or near the bottom is what sets the Vertrex Max Vibe apart from all other soft vibration baits. Ideal for casting or working vertically, the Vertrex MAX can be fished with a constant retrieve, or a variety of stop/start retrieves. The Vertrex features a full wire internal construction for extra strength and is fitted with the ultimate BKK treble hooks so you can fish it straight out of the box.
Check out the Vertrex Swim Vibe that casually and slowly swims erratically down (while the Max Vibe races down at 2X the sink rate) as well as the bigger Vertrex Max Vibe Offshore in bigger 130mm and 150mm sizes. The Vertrex Max has HUGE vibration when lifted and it can be fished with a fast lift or a very slow lift. If you are new to "vibing" then the Nomad Design Vertrex Max Vibe is a great place to start.

The max vibe has the perfect casting weight to bomb it a mile. That distance is important because the action is awesome and the longer its in the water the more followers it attracts. ITS ACTION: cast any other trap, reel it in while watching your rod tip. Then tie the Max Vibe on and watch its action. No comparison. You can burn the Vibe and it wont blow out like so many others. It is also great for slow rolling shell beds.
I would give it 5 star but the BKK hooks are weak. They will straighten out on a 5 pounder. I swap all the hooks out on this bait.

Nomad lipless
Was so impressed w these baits, probably going to leave most of my other brands at home , there that good, incredible colors w an action the fish haven’t seen , a yo yo retrieve w these is money, they literally swim down on the fall like no other lipless. Highly recommend trying them out, I’m ordering more for sure. All there baits are that good.
Ned Rigs were introduced to me 3 years ago. I can always count on them to catch fish, any fish. Just like the Z-Man TRD, I can always count on Discount Tackle for quick delivery and fair prices. The box stores have gotten ridiculously priced. I found Discount Tackle this year and have ordered often from them several times times. I appreciate their pricing, inventory and fast delivery. Even paying shipping I’m saving money and getting the lures and colors I want. Discount Tackle is my go to store for stocking my tackle box!
Great reel but not sure TW is worth the price difference
I just picked up one of these after using a Lexa 300 HD for many seasons. I use them for fishing 2-5oz swimbaits on the California coast, typically in 30-100 FOW while drifting.
Pros compared with Lexa HD:
- I like that the TW line offers the lower 6.3:1 gear ratio that's marginally better for California halibut while still having essentially the same line per turn as the 7.4:1 Lexa HD, which I've found to be very beneficial while on the drift (I can't use the 6.3:1 Lexa HD in the afternoon, when the drift picks up, because it doesn't retrieve line fast enough to maintain good swimbait action)
- I do think it casts farther than the Lexa HD, but I'm still feeling out whether I think that extra distance is worth the extra cost
Cons compared with the Lexa HD:
- I prefer the HD's counter-balanced handle and smaller knob. I haven't yet had the TW's handle swing while casting, causing the spool to engage and cast to get cut short, which I've read online can happen; I've been purposefully positioning the handle before casting to avoid this, but I'd prefer not having to do that or think about this. And while you can find the other handle online and swap it on, that just adds to the cost (plus, some handles found online don't come with the appropriate nut plate and screw; you have to order them separately from Daiwa).
- Cost
But overall, it's still a Lexa, which means it's buttery smooth, well built and well sealed. If cost is not a factor, the TW is probably worth it, and I have seen them go on sale from time-to-time at a cost very similar to the HD.
