I bought a pack of these pretty late in the year to effectively try to use them for bass in my area but a buddy and myself both have had brown trout absolutely hammer these baits in the hd crappie color on a texas rig. The swimming action is some of the best I've seen on a soft plastic. Just do yourself a favor and buy a pack and try them for yourself! I just ordered a pack in the bluegill color scheme now that they're back in stock and excited to try them come spring!

The Gilly is now part of my arsenal. It's very versatile and I've had success with the bait not only in the spawn, but in the fall and summer months as well. Straight out the box, the lure does not run true and will swim on its side, but with a simple nail weight modification, the bait runs true and is very dangerous. Ditch panda on youtube does a very thorough rigging overview where he walks you step by step on how and where to insert the nail weight and what size hooks to use when rigging this lure. One key piece of advice I wish I knew when I first started fishing these, When the bass bites and swims off with it, wait a few seconds before setting the hook. A lot of times the bass will have only half the lure in its mouth and needs a few seconds to eat the rest, this is especially the case with the 110 and 130 versions. Tight lines.

These are absolutely the best lures I've ever used. The swimming action is the most life-like I've ever seen. But I rig them with a loop tied at the hook. This makes the lure swim with way more action because it's not tied directly to the line. Therefore you can fish this lure with the loop with way heavier lines. Swimming action on this bait is a near perfect presentation. The multiple methods of rigging this bait, allow for flexibility in rigging to meet so many needs. Not just your grandpa's swim bait folks! My local lake gets a good deal of pressure and my usual go to is a spy bait. But tried this out, going across the tops of submerged grass and pulled out a 5 pounder on my third cast. Definitely worth it.
