Great lure for catching walleye in Canada, I think it was the only lure I used on this years trip!

glass minnow deja vu

When I was 13 or 14 I for to go bass fishing with my dad and brothers. I got to row one boat with my brother and dad and my other brother were in another boat. I found a minnow plug and was using it on the top of the water and catching a lot of fish including some nice bass. The top water action was fast and furious with major collisions with my lure. I found a good area with lily pads and reeds and cast a perfect shot in a slot that was open between the weeds. A large mouth bass cleared the water and came down on top of my lure and broke it in half. I put the lure in my tackle box and tried to fix it. I had to try to use a hula popper for the rest of the day without much success. I felt extremely bad about destroying my dads lure and tried to replace it for several years to no avail. I saw an ad for the glass minnow a rapala jerkbait and immediately sent away for it. I am living in AZ and they have a large number of bass here. The first time I got to try the glass minnow I hooked into a large fish I assumed was a bass. I gave me a great fight and I finally got it to the net only to find out it was a large (5 lb) carp. It reminded me of the wonderful time I had when I was just a kid with my glass minnow. I went on to catch several fish that day but the carp was the best one because it reminded me of the time I had with the first glass minnow. I will leave this one with my son in hopes he can have one of those days like I did when it all goes just right.

Have fun catching Bass!

Highly recommended to fish freshwater bass over grass beds during the span. It seems to strike something in the bass that makes it attack the bait with no fear. My success rate using this lure is 90 percent when fished this way.

Rapala Huskey Jerk 06 Glass Minnow

My go to lure these days for fast river trout. This is a great trolling or drifting down river lure, not great for casting. Successful on browns and rainbows, resembling smelt.
