Daiwa Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rods 2020 Models

Lots of guys around have this rod because the price is right. It pairs great with the Diawa BG and Saltist reels. If you're new to surf fishing or a weekend warrior, this is a solid rod. If your surf fish a ton, like daily, you'll eventually want to get a next-level up rod.

I've had two of these rods break on the cast and another one on the hook set. All three times, the break was at the connection point. Many others have had the same issue. Each time has been a nightmare trying to get Daiwa to honor the warranty. Dozens of emails/phone calls, and the first time around I ended up having to pay ~$65 for the replacement, even though it should have been 100% covered by warranty. Well that replacement rod lasted about a month before the same thing happened, and now they're giving me a very hard time about replacing the second one. I won't be buying anymore Daiwa rods.
