The 10 Baits That Showed Up Most in 2026 Pro Bass Top-10s

The 10 Baits That Showed Up Most in 2026 Pro Bass Top-10s

We went through the top-10 bait reports from all 18 top-level events of 2026: the Bassmaster Classic, nine Elite Series events, seven Bass Pro Tour stages, and REDCREST. That is 175 top-10 finishes. These baits appeared most often.

  1. Z-Man ChatterBait JackHammer: 15 top-10s, 2 wins. Takahiro Omori won on Lake Hartwell with a chartreuse-and-white 3/8-ounce JackHammer and a DieZel MinnowZ trailer. Wheeler used one on his way to the REDCREST title. No bait was more consistent.
  2. Rapala CrushCity Freeloader: 8 top-10s, 3 wins. Banks Shaw won Grand Lake with it on a tungsten head. It was also Wheeler's ChatterBait trailer in Texas.
  3. Rapala CrushCity Mooch Minnow: 8 top-10s. A jighead-minnow staple for Wheeler, Shaw, and Zack Birge, the MLF Angler of the Year.
  4. Rapala DT crankbaits: 8 top-10s, 1 win. From the DT6 in spring to the DT20 Shaw used offshore at Grand Lake.
  5. Yamamoto Senko: 8 top-10s. Wacky, Neko, and weightless, it was in Brent Ehrler's and Drew Gill's rotation all year.
  6. Strike King Rage Bug: 7 top-10s. A flipping and Carolina-rig creature for Dakota Ebare, Keith Combs and others, and Cole Floyd's trailer when he won at Beaver Lake.
  7. Hideup Coike: 5 top-10s, 1 win. Chris Johnston's Santee Cooper win made it the face of the urchin trend.
  8. Yamamoto Hinge Minnow: 5 top-10s. A jighead minnow for Matt Becker, Ehrler, Alton Jones Jr. and Jake Lawrence.
  9. Zoom Super Fluke: 4 top-10s, 1 win. Paul Marks won Lake Murray (90-14) on a chartreuse Fluke during the herring spawn; Brandon Cobb was third on one.
  10. Deps Sakamata Shad: 4 top-10s. Jacob Walker finished second twice on the Bass Pro Tour with a Sakamata on a light jighead.

Honorable Mentions

The Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm owned the Lake Erie drop-shot bite (four top-10 anglers), the Z-Man Jerk ShadZ kept Spencer Shuffield in four top-10s, and the Berkley Lab Series Minnow won the Classic before it was even on shelves.

The Takeaway

The pros won with a short list: a bladed jig, a jighead minnow, a crankbait, a stick bait, and a flipping bait. Build your box around those five, and you're fishing the same way the top-10s did.
