The Daiwa Back Bay Spinning Rods are inshore saltwater spinning rods specifically designed for inshore saltwater and estuary fishing along the Mid-Atlantic Coast all the way up through New England. They were designed and tested to effortlessly withstand the harsh conditions of East Coast inshore saltwater angling, but still made versatile enough to appeal to inshore anglers in other parts of the country as well.

The blanks use Daiwa's High Volume Fiber (HVF) technology to create rod powers that are strong enough to tackle big New England and Mid-Atlantic striped bass. The actions and tapers are also versatile enough to throw both live baits and artificial hard and soft lures. For comfort and impeccable line management, the rods are fitted with cork grips and Fuji FazLite Tangle-Free K Guides.

Available in 6 rod length/power/action model variations.

I have only had this pole a short time and used it twice once paired with a Diawa BG...in stormy conditions, surface plugging in a local back bay area in Massachusetts. I was throwing
hard baits and plastics. Had good feeling to it. Well balance and casting well under the conditions.
I had no problems feeling how the different lures were responding as I reeled them in...in those weather conditions. Very sensitive a responsive.
My 2nd fishing trip was to Fort Adams in New Port R.I...just after storm front was just pushed past there
This time bottoming with clams and 1oz. Sinkers. This pole responded to every little nibbler in Narragansett bay and five larger 16 to 17 inch scup. Very sensitive and responsive and evidently very versatile.

"Back bay" here in Massachusetts.
