An okay ZMan product with a couple of drawbacks

I have used these in the past but, have been a little hesitant lately. First, they are a small bait and those are usually used in the Winter when we downsize. This is where issue # 1 comes into play. YOU CAN'T CAST THEM VERY FAR!! And if it's windy at all, it renders this tiny bait almost useless. It's usually windy on any given Winter day. The second issue deals with if you want to crawl these on the bottom without picking up every weed possible. ZMan came up with a weedless head to use with these called the Finesse Bulletz. They rig pretty well BUT, burying the tiny hook back into a TRD bait presents it's own issues. You have to bury the hook point so deep that the hook hardly ever pops out when a fish bites! That leads to many lost fish. I've actually had the lure come back after a bite with the hook still buried into the Crawz. Not good. You can use these with an exposed hook, maybe a Finesse Shroomz but, if you have any wood or grass on the bottom you're going to get snagged. I can't see giving this more than a 3 star rating. Oh, one more thing, ZMan came up with the Finesse Bulletz to combat one other small issue. The Bulletz has a little piece of lead near the main piece designed to keep the Crawz more horizontal and lifelike. With the Fonesse Shroomz, the Crawz stands straight up and down. That's not realistically how a crawfish positions itself other than when it is in the defensive position. That's not 100% of the time.

I’ve been using these as jig trailers and fishing them Tokyo style and the small mouth are tearing them up.

I fish it on a deep clear impoundment, with spotted bass being the dominant species. Works great on Ned and Tokyo rig. 👍👍

This has been my go to this year. The elastic they use allows me to use the bait way longer than others! Love this craw!
