Strike King KVD 5.5 inch Split Ring/Braid Cutter Pliers

This plier is a great size; fits in your pocket & won't catch on your clothes. If your using braid line it'll cut neat and clean. If your changing hooks on a plug the pliers make it easy. I think it's a great set.

Nice combination of pliers and cutter. Works well with braided line. Also like compact size.

The Strike King split ring pliers are the perfect compact size that fits right in with my other gear.
I use them to add rings on various 'plugs' in my box. They work smooth, and though they seem a bit flimsy, they really are built sturdy.
I haven't used them to cut braid however they have already paid for themselves. Grab a pair and try for yourself.

This is by far the best and cheapest split ring plier. It helps a lot. Before I used to destroy all my fishing pliers trying to pry open big or heavy split rings. The reasons why I give this product 4 stars are 1. The pliers can only open certain split rings down to a certain size. You cannot put the end on a finesse split ring. 2. The spring to help the pliers open will almost always fall off. 3. The mechanism that helps lock the pliers kept going back into the slot, and you cannot open them while you are working. It's annoying and bothersome. What I ended up doing is building my own opening spring out of a wire and it just stays in the lock position until I press down on them. This means you can remove the closeing mechanism.

I bought this set of pliers specifically to cut braided line after watching a comparison test online. These pliers out perform the much more expensive choices even limp line! I might even use them on split rings from time to time.
