The Bald Eagle Swiftly Swooping Down and Grabbing My BRAND NEW 1ST DAY YO-ZURI Pencil Popper in the “Pearl Bronze Shiner” Color!
I purchased this lure on: Friday August 21st, 2025 and it arrived in the mail on: Monday August 25th, 2025. Good, Quick, Fast shipping for today’s standards.
I purchased this lure because of the low price at the time and because of the patented “Internal 3D Printing Technology” that YO-ZURI uses for this lure. I liked / like the low affordable price and the different / better engineering in terms of the Internal 3D Printing Design Technology.” This lure is VERY WELL Engineered! I Love how they put the weighted Ball in the back / bottom of the lure inside to help with casting distance by the way the weight distribution is placed inside the lure. I can cast this lure about 30 to 40 yards and really get it far out there. I use a 9 foot Daiwa FT Surf Rod with 30lb Berkley Trilene BIG GAME Braid to keep it light but Powerful still. And to cast my lure(s) far out because I do not have a boat as of right now.
THE COLORS ARE SO REALISTIC LOOKING ON THESE YO-ZURI PENCIL POPPERS! I LOVE IT / THEM! Especially in the “Pearl” color options. These colors are SO GREAT! And they are internal so they won’t scratch off from years of use.
The hooks are nice, shiny, silvery, and sharp. Kind of sticky sharp but not FULLY LASER STICKY SHARP! But they are kind of sticky sharp (Hooks can always be sharper and use better sharpening methods / techniques right?). My Pearl Bronze Shiner color looks SO REAL! I chose this Brownish, Silvery color for use in the River to match that Brown River water color (I’ll still use it at lakes of course). But the color matches PERFECTLY!
I suck at applying “Walking The Dog” action so I apologize because I am not qualified to give an Honest response on this lures “Walking The Dog” Action Performance. I need more practice on the cadence. It does dart from side to side (I can only get about 2 or 3 good pumps out of it) very well. It does not roll. It walks True. -WHEN IT FLOATS! -IT FLOATS AND SITS PERFECTLY HORIZONTAL IN POSITION ON TOP OF THE WATER! Which is nice if you do not want your “Top Water” Lure to “Dip Down” in the water like some other Top Water Lures.
This is a Great Engineered lure for a very affordable price. I would recommend it to You if this is what you are looking for. It also produces subtle, good splashes from side to side to resemble a skipping baitfish on the surface. The name of the lure is printed on top of the lure too. I know the pictures do not show it though. At that is The End of the YO-ZURI 3D Inshore Pencil Popper in the “Pearl Bronze Shiner” Color.

THE SAME DAY I GET THIS LURE (Monday August 25th, 2025)! I call some of my fishing friends so we all meet up at a New River spot one of my fishing friends finds (A NEW Spot). So we all get down there. And before we fished I noticed a Bald Eagle soaring around and I pointed out that Bald Eagle to my friends and told them: “-LOOK! A Bald Eagle!” After got our Fishing Gear setup and our lure choices, we proceed to Fish. I put on My BRAND NEW YO-ZURI 3D Inshore Pencil Popper in the “Pearl Bronze Shiner” color (which I LOVE!) and I CAST AND THIS LURE FLYS OUT ABOUT 75 to 100 FEET! THIS THING FLYS! And I begin working (trying to walk the dog good) and it looks good. The color looks GREAT! Especially in the Brown River Water Color.
After about 10 to 15 minutes I cast another 75 to 100 feet Touchdown cast! My NEW YO-ZURI Lure Splashes on Top of the Water! And I turned to one of my fishing friends to my left to say something to him -AND I SWEAR I SEEN A BROWN SILHOUETTE IN THE CORNER OF MY EYE! And AS SOON as I was going to say something to one of my fishing friends to my left he SHOUTS! “-LOOK! -LOOK! -LOOK! -THE BALD EAGLE IS SWOOPING TO GET YOUR LURE!” I IMMEDIATELY SWING MY HEAD OVER TO MY LURE TO TRY AND QUICKLY REEL IN MY NEW YO-ZURI LURE! (SPLASH!) The Bald Eagle ALREADY Had My BRAND NEW LURE IN IT’S TALONS! AND WAS FLYING UP AND AWAY! I SAID: “-AWWWW $*%!” And I pull to try and fly my New Lure out of it’s claws (I tried) and the Bald Eagle descends slowly and splash lands on top of the water and still pulling HARD! To try and fly away! Bald Eagles got some Strength and POWER MY GOSH! WEIGHED ABOUT 25 POUNDS IT FELT LIKE! So after I tired out the Bald Eagle and he stopped trying to pull away. He just chilled and let me reel him in so I can get my Lure back and out of his THICK, LEATHERY TALON GRIP! He was finally in after reeling him in 75 feet! And MIRACULOUSLY the lure and hook just fell from his talon grip -THANK GOD THAT WAS QUICK, PAINLESS AND EASY! That Bald Eagle looked DIRECTLY INTO MY SOUL! We had a moment. He flew away u...
