The Shimano Curado 70 MGL is a new low-profile baitcasting reel that brings high-end MGL (Magnumlite) spool technology to the Curado series of baitcasting reels. This incredibly lightweight MGL spool requires less start-up energy to reach its full potential, allowing for longer casts with less effort. This advanced spool technology also provides advantages to anglers throwing lighter finesse soft baits or highly-responsive hard baits, like small balsa lures or high-end jerkbaits, because it makes it easier to cast the light line that these lures and presentations work best with.
Additionally, just like the previous non-MGL iteration of the Curado 70, the small overall reel size makes it perfect for pitching and flipping baits into tight cover where high line capacity is not required, while still having more than enough strength to bring in big fish thanks to the reels Cross Carbon Drag with 10 pounds of maximum drag strength. And just like the rest of the Curado family, they are equipped with MicroModule Gears for improved smoothness, as well as a Hagane Body for increased rigidity and durability for years of top-notch fishing performance.
Available in 7.4:1 and 8.1:1 gear ratios in both Right and Left Hand retrieve.
