The Daiwa Saltiga Spinning Reel was first released in 2002, and ever since the demand for heavy-duty saltwater spinning reels has steadily increased. Now, the Saltiga has been re-imagined delivering anglers the most advanced Saltiga ever made. Extensively redesigned and engineered from drag knob to handle the New 2023 Saltiga MQ features the most advanced list of features ever.

At the heart of the 2023 Saltiga is the brand new MONOCOQUE (MQ) body, resulting in the 2023 SALTIGA Reels gaining extra strength and retrieve power. The new MQ body also boasts a new rear cover design, eliminating screws from the underside of the reel to improve against water intrusion. Improved paint & finishing processes also extend the durability delivering much improved corrosion protection.

Daiwa engineers have also created a new drag stack, increasing the number of washers and delivering deliver ten times the drag durability. As well as having designed an all new Aluminum Heat Dissipating Drag Knob, delivering improved cooling & heat dissipation. The newly designed ABS Longcast Spool design offers improved casting performance and a Brand New gear design with G1 Duralumin material is the pinnacle of gear strength and precision. Increased strength of up to 130% supports the Daiwa Saltiga MQ Spinning Reel under the harshest conditions.

A reel with this level of performance needs to last so Daiwa engineers have come up with and implemented MAGSEALED technology. This tech implements a special liquid material developed originally for aerospace engineering and repurposed here called MAGOIL. MAGOIL creates a water and dust-resistant barrier to replace traditional rubber seals, decreasing overall weight. MAGSEALED bearings have been designed to last far longer than traditionally sealed ball bearings due to the inner and outer rings being magnetized and joined by waterproof and stable MAGSEALED oil. All this combined means increased longevity for your reel, and increased performance when on the water.
