My preferred brand of braid

I consistently get a reliable product with Daiwa's J-Braid X8 regardless of line size. Having recently tried to other brands at a lesser price point, I was immediately reminded why I stick with J-Braid. It spools cleanly (spinning and casting), casts nicely, lays flat, and handles the rocky jettys that I tend to fish here on Lake Michigan. Wind is always a factor where I fish, but wind knots are not. The only con is it does color fade over time, but I have yet to find a braid where some color fade isn't a factor. Recommend!

The best yet !

I have tried the others (PowerPro, Izorline, Jerry Brown, etc) and now I have the J-Braid in 30, 40, 50 and 65LB test. I am finding the J-Braid to be smoother, create fewer wind knots on my spinners, hold knots better and be as, or more abrasion resistant than the others. I still have another 6-7 reels that need spooling and I know where I'm going to go!

Favorite braid

The 8 strand J braid has been my “Go to” spinning line braid since I first discovered it. I have it on light to medium sized spinning reels that I mostly use for surf fishing in 20-50lb. I almost never have problems with wind knots using J Braid as I have with some other popular lines. I used the med spinner with 50lb recently and fished jigs in 50’-100’ depths. No issues at all with the line while jigging. The color coating has faded some on my older line, on one reel I just removed all of the line and then reversed it and rewound it onto the reel. Looks and performs like brand new line again. I will do the same as conditions warrant with my other lines when necessary.
