Bobber stopps

These are great and easy to use. They have many uses when fishing but I use them most with a slip cork when crappie fishing.

Use on Braid for Steelhead Floats

The product description says these work on monofilament, but I think they're even better on braid, where there is more friction. I usually use them while float fishing for steelhead in a West Coast-style sliding float setup: the thill bobber stop knot / bead, a sliding float, down to the weight. Then a fluorocarbon leader from there to my jig/hook/bait/etc. I've also been known to put a second knot/bead below the float if I'm using a big float that in a snaggy area, so if I snag up and break off, I don't lose the float, too. One last tip is once you tie your bobber knot, clip the ends off the bobber knot so you don't get the tag ends caught in the guides of your rod when casting.

Thill float atops

Have used them salt water fishing. But I am in Tennessee fishing out of a kayak. These would work great for those who are inches above the water. Reel the stop onto the spool. It does not interfere with the casting. The weight pulls the fishing line down to the set depth. Could be 20 feet or more and reeling the float up to the top eyes of my fishing ros is a relief. Can be used for all sorts of fishing crappie, brim, etc..
