The Mule Fishing Donkey Tail Jr. is a tiny, 1.6 inch soft plastic paddle tail swimbait. Designed by Discount Tackle Brand AmBASSador and ultra-light multispecies fishing guru Ethan Dhuyvetter (aka @onlineoutdoorsman) for his Mule Fishing Supply Co. tackle outfit, the Donkey Tail Jr. has a petite baitfish profile perfect for catching a wide range of species such as bass, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, trout or really any other small species chasing small bait.

Despite being one of the smallest soft plastics in our catalog, these baits are loaded with ingenuity. They're made from a super-stretchy, buoyant, and durable thermoplastic material so they stand-up on the bottom when rigged on a jig head and can easily be used to catch multiple fish. These baits are also incredibly versatile; you can swim them on a straight retrieve, fish them on a Ned rig, or even jig them vertically over schools of feeding fish. Additionally, for anglers who desire an even smaller profile, it's easy to cut the nose portion of the bait off and slim down your offering to an even more finesse approach.

Ethan recommends pairing them with finesse mushroom and ball head jigs between 1/80 and 1/32 ounce. But you can also fish the Donkey Tail in numerous other fashions, such as a Texas rig, drop shot, or split shot rig.

Available in 6 colors, 12 baits per pack.

Love the size of these things. You can catch any panfish of any size really and they’ll get bigger fish too. I like them on a ball head jig. Good durability.

Fished this lure in winter cold waters...bluegill, crappie and small bass love it...1/32 oz mule jig on 6# braid with a 6# mono leader...I work it very slowly in 6-8 fow...I toss it out and let it drop to the bottom working it slowly with just an occasional lift of the rod and then a turn of the reel handle...watch the line for any movement and sharply lift the rod to set the hook...
