The Nomad Design DTX Minnow 220 Long Range Special (LRS) is a special edition of the DTX Minnow trolling plug that has been purpose-built to withstand the toughest predators far out in bluewater. This absolute unit of a fishing lure is ideal for wahoo, tuna, dorado, marlin, mackerel, and nearly any other pelagic predator fish. At 9 inches of body length and (12 1/2 inches overall with lip), it's the largest DTX Minnow in the series and it's also the toughest, featuring a reinforced body and full Metal Matrix plate system.

Overall, the DTX Minnow 220 LRS is a revolution in trolling minnows, featuring Nomad Design's proprietary Autotune System (patent pending), Metal Matrix Plate system, Diamond Armour internal strength system and Hydrospeed belly eyelet technology. The DTX 220 LRS will swim deeper and faster than any other minnow and will always swim straight when trolled between 4 knots and 14 knots.

The Autotune System gives the DTX 220 LRS a ridiculously deep maximum diving depth, reaching up to 50 feet deep when trolled at least 200 feet behind the boat at speeds between 5 - 9 knots. Additionally, it is capable of reaching even greater depths when trolled on 65 to 60 pound test braid. It has an overall maximum trolling speed of 14 knots.

When rigging the DTX 220 LRS, Nomad Design recommends keeping connections as small as possible to help achieve greater depths; the smaller the connection the deeper the DTX 220 LRS will go. This is best achieved using 150-200 pound test monofilament leader with a small crimp or Uni Knot connection to the solid ring, or single strand of 120 pound test wire or multi-strand cable of up to 250 pound test. Nomad Design also cautions that using hooks other than those supplied is possible, but they cannot guarantee the swimming speed and depth with hooks other than the BKK inline singles it comes rigged with.
