It'll take you to the finish line

I've owned a Daiwa SS1300 for close to thirty years now. It is an interesting fact, I found it at a landfill site. It was stuck in a snow bank with a few other rods, and reels. It was the only piece worth taking, these rods had been submerged for a while. Lucky for me, in fresh water. I took it to a friend of mine who owned a tackle store. He cleaned it up, and soon had it running smooth. I had to replace the spool, it was to corroded to do anything with. I think that set me back for the ungodly sum of $8. Plus $0 labour. Is there no justice in this world??? LOL I still use it, I like it for casting under docks, and overhead cover. Cedar trees growing close to the water. I have it on a 6 foot 2 inch MH spinning rod. I hate to say it, but it is a Rapala rod. I like how this combo pulls big bass away from heavy cover, and the drag is something that has to be first hand to appreciate. I have owned a few other stump knockers, I like how your approach is with the wheel. It makes closing the bail so easy, ands smooth. I have Berkely Fireline on it, and it's my go to for soft plastic baits. Thanks for this amazing reel, and thanks for the memories it has installed in my gray matter.

      Staying power

I’ve been a very active fisherman for 50 years. Guided for smallmouth, fished 30 + tournaments a year, surf fished every chance I got, and floated or waded hundreds of miles of river. I’ve worn out more reels than most but I’ve got three that have never given me one hiccup in 32 years. Thanks Daiwa for making a product that stands the tests so well.

      A reel legend

Daiwa has been making these things almost as long as ive been alive and its obvious why. There a real workhorse! Its smoothness and long casting work great for walleye, salmon, trout, bass, & panfish, even ligth saltwater stuff. I actually think this reel is bulletproof.......it doesn't break!
